Promotion of Individual Rights
We work to empower children, women, youth, and disadvantaged individuals to exercise their fundamental human rights, including the right to a standard of living adequate for their health and well-being, security in the event of unemployment or other lack of livelihood, and the right to education.

Health
Garga Foundation improves access to quality healthcare and promotes hygiene practices across Nigeria through community-driven interventions that strengthen health systems, expand preventive care, and embed sustainable behavior change. Our strategy integrates support for primary healthcare delivery with targeted hygiene promotion—particularly in underserved and high-risk communities—focusing on disease prevention, maternal and child health, clean water use, sanitation, and hand-washing practices. By working closely with communities, health providers, and public institutions, we ensure that healthcare services are accessible, culturally appropriate, and capable of delivering lasting public-health outcomes.
Climate Change and Resiliance
Garga Foundation supports schools and empowers girls and women through targeted learning programs that remove structural barriers to education and build practical, lifelong skills. Our approach combines school-level support—such as learning materials, safe learning spaces, and teacher engagement—with focused interventions for girls and women, including literacy, leadership development, civic education, digital skills, and economic empowerment training. These programs are intentionally designed to be context-responsive, gender-sensitive, and community-owned, ensuring that beneficiaries not only gain access to education but also acquire the confidence, knowledge, and capabilities needed to participate fully in social, economic, and public life.
Education
Education
Garga Foundation advances Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) outcomes by expanding access to safe water, improving sanitation infrastructure, and promoting sustained hygiene behaviors in underserved communities. Our approach combines community-led water solutions, sanitation facilities, and evidence-based hygiene education to reduce water-borne diseases, strengthen public health, and enhance dignity and safety—especially for women and children. By working in partnership with communities and institutions, we focus on solutions that are locally owned, resilient, and sustainable over the long term.
Water , Sanitation and Hygine
Garga Foundation addresses climate change and resilience by supporting community-led actions that strengthen adaptive capacity, protect livelihoods, and reduce vulnerability to climate-related shocks. Our work integrates climate awareness, sustainable resource management, and locally appropriate adaptation strategies—particularly for women, youth, and vulnerable populations. By linking environmental stewardship with economic and social resilience, we help communities anticipate, withstand, and recover from climate stresses while building pathways for sustainable development.

Water & Sanitation
Garga Foundation promotes agriculture and heirloom gardening as pathways to food security, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable livelihoods. Our approach supports smallholder farmers, women, and youth through climate-smart agricultural practices, preservation of indigenous seed varieties, and community-based gardening initiatives. By strengthening local food systems and safeguarding heirloom crops, we enhance nutritional outcomes, build resilience to climate change, and sustain agricultural knowledge across generations.

Women Empowerment and Child Rights
Garga Foundation supports gender equality and women’s rights through education, skills development, and peacebuilding initiatives across its outreach areas. Our integrated approach promotes empowerment, protection, and opportunity by strengthening girls’ education, women’s leadership, and economic inclusion, while safeguarding children’s rights to health, education, protection, and participation. Working in partnership with families, communities, and institutions, we address structural barriers, challenge harmful norms, and foster inclusive environments where women and children can thrive with dignity and security
Women in Politics
Garga Foundation supports orphans and vulnerable children through holistic programs that address their educational, health, nutritional, and psychosocial needs. Our approach strengthens family and community-based care, improves access to quality education and healthcare, and provides targeted support to caregivers to ensure stable and protective environments. By working closely with communities and institutions, we promote the safety, dignity, and long-term well-being of children facing heightened vulnerability.
Arts, Culture and Crafts
Garga Foundation promotes art, culture, and crafts as vital drivers of identity, social cohesion, and inclusive economic opportunity. Our work supports artists and artisans through skills development, preservation of indigenous knowledge, creative entrepreneurship, and access to platforms that showcase cultural expression. By strengthening cultural heritage and the creative economy, we foster community pride, intergenerational knowledge transfer, and sustainable livelihoods rooted in local traditions
Reproductive Health and Rights
Garga Foundation advances reproductive health and rights by expanding access to accurate information, quality services, and supportive community systems that enable informed and autonomous decision-making. Our approach promotes maternal and adolescent health, family planning, and gender-responsive care while addressing social and cultural barriers that limit access to services. By working with communities, health providers, and institutions, we strengthen rights-based, inclusive, and sustainable reproductive health outcomes for women, girls, and families.
Peace Building
Garga Foundation advances women in politics by strengthening women’s participation, leadership, and representation in public and political life. Our approach combines civic education, leadership development, advocacy skills, and mentorship to equip women with the knowledge and confidence to engage effectively in political processes. By working with communities, institutions, and political actors, we address structural and cultural barriers and promote inclusive governance where women’s voices meaningfully shape decision-making.
