At Garga Foundation, we promote sustainable development and empower the poor and the vulnerable with information, knowledge, and skills to make a lasting impact in their lives.

Our Vision

We have several aims and objectives that we work towards, including:

  • Assisting orphans and vulnerable children to obtain quality education and vocational skills

  • Conducting advocacy campaigns on issues affecting women, youth, and children

  • Promoting peace, democracy, and good governance

  • Mitigating the impact of communicable, non-communicable, and neglected diseases in the society

  • Promoting economic empowerment of widows, single mothers, and youths

  • Supporting individuals in rural communities to implement projects that promote good health and agricultural development

  • Building the capacity of civil society organizations in the areas of project management, monitoring, and evaluation

  • Conducting voter education and election monitoring

  • Advocacy for increased access and use of quality Water, Sanitation and Hygiene services

  • Conducting research, pre-evaluation, mid-term evaluation, and final evaluation of programs and projects

Our Main Focus Areas

Our focus areas are capacity building, peace, democracy, and good governance, women in politics, livelihood and economic empowerment, health, disease impact mitigation (care for orphans), and agricultural and social development.

Our Partners

We have implemented projects for many development partners such as Creative Associates/USAID, Women in Politics/DFID/National Democratic Institute, Global Fund, and others. We are always looking for partnerships to achieve our vision and mission.

  • Anguwar Jaba OVC Support Program (Nasarawa State) – Garga Foundation & local individuals (2024–2025), Nasarawa State: Provided education, nutrition, and caregiver support to vulnerable children.

  • USAID Small Town WASH (ST-WASH) Program – USAID, Adamawa RUWASSA (2022–2024), 10 towns in Adamawa State: Expanded access to clean water, constructed latrines, promoted hygiene practices, and reduced water-borne diseases.

  • USAID ST-WASH (via WaterAid & Mercy Corps) – USAID, WaterAid, Mercy Corps (2021–2023), Song, Ganye & Girei LGAs, Adamawa State: Delivered WASH infrastructure, hygiene promotion, and policy advocacy.

  • Global Fund Malaria – Community-Led Monitoring – CRS, ACOMIN, Global Fund (2020–2025, ongoing), Maiha LGA, Adamawa State: Established community malaria monitoring and improved ITN use, diagnosis, and treatment.

  • Civic Space & Security Project – Fund for Global Human Rights, Spaces for Change (S4C) (2020–2023), Kano & Adamawa States: Reformed Hisbah policing practices and advanced AI ethics and digital rights.

  • Human Rights & Digital Freedoms Project – JCDF, (2019–2022), Kano State: Promoted digital freedoms, reduced harassment of activists, and strengthened gender inclusion.

  • Women in Politics (WiP) Initiative – IFES, USAID (2018–2025), Adamawa State (all 21 LGAs): Increased women’s political representation, achieving vice-chair positions in all LGAs from a zero baseline.

  • Consensus Building for Reintegration – USAID/NERI (2018), Pulka, Borno State: Established a 60-member consensus forum and developed a reintegration strategy.

  • MDR-TB Project – Tuberculosis (TB) Network (2017), Song, Girei, Yola North, Yola South & Fufore LGAs, Adamawa State: Strengthened DR-TB management and established treatment support groups.

  • Women in Politics (WiP) Project – National Democratic Institute (NDI), United States (2016–2018), Numan & Lamorde LGAs, Adamawa State: Improved women’s political participation and representation.

  • Maternal & Child Health Town Halls – Advocacy Nigeria & Sure-P (2016), Adamawa State: Mobilized traditional and religious leaders to reduce maternal and child mortality.

  • Education Crisis Response (Educare Centers) – USAID/ECR, IRC (2014–2015), Numan, Shelleng & Demsa LGAs, Adamawa State: Established 14 non-formal learning centers and improved education access for IDPs.

  • Voter Education Project – National Democratic Institute (NDI) (2014), Adamawa South, Central & North Senatorial Districts: Strengthened democratic participation of marginalized groups.

  • Budget Tracking on Family Planning – Advocacy Nigeria (2013), Adamawa State: Promoted accountability in family-planning budgets and contributed to reduced maternal and child mortality.

  • Tuberculosis (TB) Eradication Project – Health Alive Foundation (HAF) (2011–2015), Mubi North & Mubi South LGAs, Adamawa State: Reduced TB cases at the community level.

  • HIV/AIDS OVC Support (NECAIN Project) – USAID/NECAIN Consortium (NELA) (2010–2014), Mayo Belwa & Demsa LGAs, Adamawa State: Supported 4,500 OVCs, economically empowered 1,340 caregivers, and strengthened community capacity.
